I’ve been Davidge’d!

The composer for Halo 4 was recently reveled to be Neil Davidge; this quote below is his philosophy of working on the upcoming game:

Music has always been at the heart of what makes Halo so captivating and iconic. With Halo 4, we want to build upon the franchise’s amazing legacy and create a score that captures the awe and wonder of the Halo universe, and reinforces the deeper and more emotionally impactful journey Master Chief will embark on.

The words I bolded are exactly the words that came to mind when I listened to a sample of the soundtrack; it has an epic feel that morphs into a warning at about the 2:30 mark – really great stuff.

There may be hesitation in the Halo-sphere about gameplay, multiplayer and “Spartan Ops,” but when this score plays all that fads into the background as I get ready for the sense of adventure that Halo has been giving me for 10+ years.

(The above quote from Mr. Davidge was taken from Halo Waypoint. If you’re like me and didn’t know who he was, check out the 4.11.12 Halo Bulletin for a quick bio.)
