Recently beat Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag but there was one task I needed to complete in order to get all the secondary objectives done – defeat all legendary ships.
This meant facing “the unpolluted.”
El Impoluto.
I didn’t have too much trouble with the other three legendary ships (HMS Prince, La Dama Negra, HMS Fearless/Royal Sovereign), but this one was a beast.
Time and time again I could not get the better of this pride of the Spanish fleet, and in the end I turned to the internet in order to find out how people had taken down this monster before.
I had adopted a strategy of fleeing and shooting fire barrels then firing a broadside when she came close, but I could never get over – would be taken out each time.
In the end it turned out that I had to beat her at her own game – ramming. I might have thought of it on my own, but it would’ve taken me who knows how long.
In the end victory was sweet, and I’ve never been so happy to see something sink beneath the waves.
Now sing me a shanty!

I know the feeling, of pure accomplishment met with disappointment. Why? because as soon as you defeat the last Legendary ship, you are awarded with a Ram Charge, allowing you to literally come down on your enemies like a ton of bricks and do devastating amounts of damage. leaving you to think, “Oh, why didn’t they let me have this technique before taking on the pride of their Respective Navies” Anyway it is still one of my favourite games and still enjoy playing it!

Agreed – that “NOW you can have the thing that you really needed two seconds ago!” feeling.
Still a fantastic game, and one I really enjoyed as well.
