In order to get me to watch something I usually need a recommendation from a friend or family member, something to bring the media to my attention and get me excited about it.
However Red Cliff had two things going for it, first that it was a historical epic and second that the history was centered in ancient China? I’m in.
Appropriately long and with memorable characters, Red Cliff started slow but picked up over the course of the film and I enjoyed it. A traditional take on life when tradition was valued.
I finished my first watch-through of this film on July 10, 2017.
