Skyrim Scripted, Page 9

I cleared out Stillborn Cave and I liked how the exit of the cave dropped me off at a different access point. It was unexpected and added to the sense of distance I covered in the cavern.

M’aiq the Liar was hanging outside the cave; dude gets around.

I needed to into that forsaken cave to retrieve Urag gro-Shub’s copy of N’Gasta! Kvata! Kvakis!, and I did just that. I’m hoping with that task done he’ll forgive all my late fees.

“Disrupt my Arcanaeum, and I will have you torn apart by angry Atronachs. Now, do you require assistance?”

Even as the new Arch-Mage I don’t think he’d let me cancel my own fines; he’s a real stickler that guy.

Speaking of my being Arch-Mage I set about doing what Arch-Mage’s do – tracking down lost students. It’s my school man, we’ve got to solve these mysteries! Borvir, Rundi, Ilas-Tei and Yisra were Phinis Gestor’s missing apprentices and moving about the surrounding landscape of the college I located the final resting places of all of them.

This was a great way to travel around the College with purpose while taking in the sights and I enjoyed it. The big surprise was at Journeyman’s Nook – I found Borvir there dead, but a bandit was next to him humming and talking to himself working at the alchemy table.

Alchemy: able to calm even the most agitated of bandits

I was going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt; I mean, maybe he was just a travelling bandit who happened upon the scene as I did.

But as soon as he stopped working the alchemy he turned on me and that was that. It was hilarious that I was moving about the ruin and he was oblivious to me, then as soon as he stepped back from the table he went on the normal bandit routine.

This was yet another experience I would have missed out of if not for the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch – I am thankful!

On my way back to Whiterun it was snowing so hard I could barley see in front of me; the weather effects are outstanding that it’s funny that the less I can see during a storm the more immersed I feel.

Back in town I invested five hundred septims in Adrianne Avenicci’s blacksmithing, so she’s welcome. Braith will leave Lars Battle-Born alone now, so hopefully they’ll both get more peace.

I’ve also joined the Companions (something I’ve been wanting to do ever since my first “playthrough”) and met some of their crew; Kodlack Whitemane was cool and we’ll see where the storyline goes this time.

Side note – I found an unusual gem in the Companions’ living quarters.
