Sure, Disney+ has The Mandalorian; but have you seen TaleSpin?
“Plunder & Lightning” was the four-episode long premier of TaleSpin, a fantastic Disney cartoon that was a part of my childhood and I’ve now shared with the kids.
Originally broadcast in 1990 it’s a little crazy to me that I can share the same experience with my family twenty-nine years later, but here we are.
We watched it together on December 28, 2019 and it’s easy to say something along the lines of “they don’t make them like that anymore”, but I did have that feeling as the adventure unfolded.
The truth is they do make them like that, but I’m different now. The experience I had with this great series captures the fun I had growing up and I’m grateful to be able to reflect on it now with a family watch-through.
Closing thought: is there a better theme song? I don’t think so.
