Two quick hits on some recent Dominion happenings:
Militia’d for the win
Three of us played a recent (1/29/15) game and as I’ve mentioned earlier I haven’t been winning lately.
Thought I had this one, when I lost by ONE POINT to my wife.
All your cards belong to us
Classic Militia – always making you come up short when you would’ve got that extra Province …
Spreading the Love
The story how we got into Dominion in the first place is a post for another time, but at a recent trip to Barnes & Noble I was able to introduce a couple to the game.
They were looking for a good two-player, and I took it upon myself to step in and tell them that they would be fools to pass up Dominion.
I didn’t put it quite that way, but they could tell my enthusiasm was genuine and they bought the game.
I believe we should all do our part to make the world a better place, and I earned my check mark for that day 🙂
I knew it would happen – but was still surprised when it did.
My oldest daughter beat me in Dominion, and she did it much like her mother does – right in front of my face and I don’t even realize it’s happening.
It was a proud moment, for her because she beat me, and for me because she did a great job.
Another night, another chance for a great game of Dominion.
We used the base set this time with the “first game” card set up, with a few variations (Spy and Thief made an appearance).
My daughter came as close as she has so far to winning (I think we’ve played about four games now) and it’s going to happen soon. The only reason it didn’t this time was because I found a Province hiding in a pile of my cards that I didn’t add in the first time through!
It’s great playing with her – and I need to remember to make sure I feel the same way when she does beat me 😉
Life is busy enough right now that even though we’ve purchased the “Dark Ages” expansion for Dominion we have yet to actually have a game of it.
From reading through the new mechanic and the “broken down” element of the game, I’m looking forward to it.
