There has been a lot of news lately about Halo 4, from the Grunt re-design to the recent showing of an early build of the game at Bryant Park Hotel in NYC on 4/25. Both great stories in and of themselves, but I was excited by the recent weapon news posted over at Game Informer.

The new weapon detailed was the “Railgun,” and you’ll find the copy-and-pasted info below the picture above.

To me it looks like a cross between a Plasma Repeater and a Focus Rifle (not it how it plays but visually) – what do you think?

The new weapon reveal is exciting because this is something I’m going to be using. This could be my new favorite weapon – I could scour the battlefield for it, dropping every other weapon in favor of it and breathing a sigh of relief when I find one.

Or it could be the bane of my arsenal, the weapon I always seem to have but never want to use.

Either way the Railgun is tangible newness that I’ll be using during campaign/multiplayer, and I’m ready for the new gameplay possibilities that will come about because of it.
