Around November of last year we watched through the three Ocean’s 11 movies starring, well, starring everybody.
I’m not sure – although thinking about it I am sure – but I think time has taken the cleverness out of these movies for me.
During the re-watch they didn’t seem nearly as original as the first time I saw them, and in fairness by definition they couldn’t be.
But I wonder if they’ve been copied so much now; I don’t mean in the exact plot, but in the vibe and attitude, the “everyone-with-a-different-skill-comes-together-to-do-the-thing-and-they’re-all-likable-in-their-own-way” vibe.
Maybe not, maybe I’m not as clever as I used to be.
Thinking about that I’m definitely sure.
